Mark is most interested in the contemplative dimension of Continuum and integrating meditation practice with Continuum.  His meditation background is in Zen Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta, and other Non-Dual teaching and he worked for many years with Toni Packer, founder of Springwater Center.  His experience of movement in Continuum is identical to the profound stillness and spaciousness of non-dual Zen meditation.

Mark lives in rural central Virginia on 256 acres of forested land at Mandala Kaya, a small retreat center.  He began practicing Continuum Movement in 2000, starting teaching in 2009, and joined the Continuum Teachers Association in 2018.  He has studied primarily with Cory Blake but also has worked with Susan Harper, Rebecca Lawson, Bonnie Gintis, Robert Litman, Ana-Aegi Clothiaux, and has done related work with Kevin Frank and Caryn McHose.   Mark began formal meditation practice in the Zen Buddhist tradition in 1986 and in 1996 he began working with Toni Packer.  Mark leads or co-leads retreats, offers Continuum classes, leads the Richmond Meditative Inquiry Group (a Non-Dual Zen Group), and is a part of the Richmond, Virginia Continuum community.

Mark is also a visual artist and he tends to his family’s business, a small freight railroad.
