I first met Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper in 1979 and, with Emilie's blessing, began teaching Continuum in 1983. For me, Continuum is a process of inquiring into the mystery and essence of being human. Through teaching, I weave together my abiding love of nature with understandings from science, philosophy and religion. Since Emilie's passing in 2014, I have been teaching Words and Waves (formerly Poetry of Motion and Writing the Waves) with Rebecca Mark. In this workshop we follow the expression of the fluid field of imagination with pen on paper, our breath, sounds, images, words, and the movement of tissue.
I have been practicing holistic bodywork for 40 years and specialize in a holistic approach informed by extensive training in Continuum, Somatic Experiencing, Rosen Method Bodywork, and other movement and touch modalities. I have also been an adjunct professor at JFK University and The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California, teaching classes on embodied spirituality and somatic approaches to trauma. I hold an MA in Philosophy and Religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and a BA in Psychology from Stanford University.
Guided by my passion for exploring new terrains, I led vision quest river trips in Utah with Susan Harper and spiritual treks in the mountains of Nepal and India. Now that my son is an adult I've begun to travel the world again. A student of the Diamond Approach since 1995, love of truth and inquiry inspires both my inner and outer explorations.
