Meredith
Johnson
Meredith Johnson, LMHC, SEP, is a somatic psychotherapist, mother, mover, explorer and creative who specializes in nervous system health and adaptability for transcending stress- and trauma-related symptoms, suffering, and syndromes. She guides and educates her clients and students in gentle, naturalistic processes of connecting with and optimizing their innate capacity to learn, heal, change, and thrive.
Meredith has been a devoted student and teacher of transformative bodymind practices, including Somatic Experiencing, for over 25 years. In 2018, she began studying and mentoring under Elaine Colandrea in Continuum. This moving inquiry practice became central to her healing journey after a major surgery, evolving into her primary paradigm for embodied health, healing, and wholeness. Bonnie Gintis and Susan Harper have also been central guides and influences. Additional teachers and trainings at the heart of who she is and how she works include Roshi Nancy Mujo Baker in Zen Buddhism; MBSR; professors of neurobiology, theater arts, health psychology, and ecotherapy; Sil Read in Marion Woodman’s Jungian lineage; Alexander Technique; and in more recent years of ongoing study, Alicia Fajardo in Holistic Biomechanics and Gil Hedley in Integral Anatomy.
Meredith moves, teaches, and learns from the regenerative wellspring at the convergence of nature, science, and spirit. She is inspired by and welcomes ongoing and new collaborations with other teachers in developing the ever-evolving and relevant world of Continuum.
