Ashima
Kahrs
Ashima Kahrs is a therapist, a teacher/facilitator, a writer, and an avid traveler. A perennial student, she is fascinated by the unknown, always searching for hidden clues, somehow restless for the deeper meanings.
Her early training was as a speech-language pathologist, a career she pursued after suffering a stroke at the age of 21.
Much later she was certified as a massage therapist, Cranio-sacral therapist, Watsu practitioner, Nia Instructor, SomaYoga instructor, and a Continuum facilitator and practitioner. She continues to maintain an active massage practice, and to teach Nia and SomaYoga, merging the dynamic fluidity of Continuum into both movement forms.
Exploring the internal landscape of the body through undulating wave motion continues to inform her. She will be sharing these nurturing movements during the Winter Solstice Offering later this year.
Ashima currently lives near Charleston, South Carolina, traveling frequently to explore new possibilities and to visit her children and magical grandsons. She is the author of My Cosmic Stroke, a narrative describing the stroke, and the fascinating events that have since shaped her life and that led her to Continuum.
